IT'S BEGINNING TO look a lot like Christmas over here! This year we are finally settled in a home for Christmas which means I have had the time to decorate for the holidays! Two years ago we were in rural Kenya and last year we had been back and forth so many times in the weeks leading up to Christmas that we bought a Charlie Brown type tree and called it a day for Christmas decorating.
Not this year! This year we have a home with room for a tree, a real, big tree which I am SO excited about. Maybe even too excited, since we bought ours the last weekend of November (Sorry Sam! haha). I grew up with real trees so buying a fake tree wasn't an option for us. We ended up buying 300 lights for our 6 foot tree because the 200 they recommended at the garden center just wasn't enough - next year I might even need to buy more because, can you ever have too many lights on your tree?
This time of year is so magical to me. Everyone seems to be more joyful, there is great food everywhere, homes are decorated and covered with lights, and maybe, just maybe we will wake up to a white Christmas which would be the cherry on top!
The stockings are hung, the boughs are decked, the tree is decorated, the cookies are in the oven and our hearts are full.
